week 30 growth...weight of a cabbage

Your pregnancy: 30 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

baby's first lobster

last weekend dominic and i went to roxbury, maine for the 3rd year in a row for a lobsterfest...this is an amazing event to be a part of...the yard is full of rv's and tents...the garage is full of food, chairs and people playing music until the wee hours of the morning...
this is sunday morning...some of the rv's had already left...
this is the rv that we stayed in...
saturday is the big day of lobster...i was a little nervous because since being pregnant things don't always taste as good as the did before being pregnant...this is baby's first lobster
thankfully the lobster tasted great..as well as all the other food they had there...we had a great time hanging with friends and relaxing...here is a pic of the river across the road from where we stayed...
a good time was had by all...except maybe the lobsters..

growth this week...butternut squash

Your pregnancy: 29 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

7 months...first pics in a swimsuit...yikes...haha

well here we are at 28 weeks...7 months...hard to believe and yet def. ready to meet this little guy...i don't really feel any bigger then i did at 6 months..??? i went to my first pre-natal yoga class last thursday and will be going again for 10 more weeks leading up the birth...hopefully it will help tone, strengthen and relax me as the birth approaches...so these are pics in the only swimsuit i have found so far that doesn't look absolutely horrendous...

entering the third trimester...wow

Your pregnancy: 28 weeks

How your baby's growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

14 weeks to go....

wow...can't hardly believe that we are already 6 1/2 months along...and yet i am def. hitting the first point of frustration...not being able to be as independent as i like to be...simple things like tying my shoes, bending over to pick something up, getting up from laying on my back or sitting, finding shirts that don't make me look like a big fruit, finding a cute swimsuit (which is nearly impossible for pregnant women), starving but only able to fit a few bites in before i am full...all such fun stuff...haaaa

on the amazing side of things...this little guy has been moving a ton and loves to listen music, my voice and dominic's voice....so crazy to see my stomach moving...a friend described it as watching a 3-ring circus inside his wife's belly....so true...

well here is what is happening this week with our little one...

Your pregnancy: 27 weeks

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
